The Direction of World Politics (plus Tweets)

Heather Hastie — Wed, 21 Nov 2018 03:00:40 +0000

It’s been a while, so I thought I should at least attempt a Tweets Post. There are a couple of things to catch you up on in my personal life. Firstly, things are much better now I have a decent chair. However, the damage done while I was waiting for that to happen hasn’t gone […]

The NRA Bait and Switch (plus Tweets)

Heather Hastie — Sun, 02 Sep 2018 04:28:32 +0000

Since the horrific killings of Eli Clayton (21) and Taylor Robertson (27) (pictured left) at a gamer tournament in Florida, the media is full of stories about the problem with video games. We’re being led to believe that it’s gamer culture that’s the issue here. That, apparently, is what led to 24-year-old David Katz opening […]

Trump’s Anti-Media Attitude (plus Tweets)

Heather Hastie — Mon, 27 Aug 2018 06:02:25 +0000

Hi everybody. It’s about time I did a post to justify my existence, so here I am. I was having a look at Twitter and found some nice tweets, and thought I could put them in a post. Then, of course, I had to think of something to write about. A fellow NZ atheist took […]

Update III, Helsinki, Trump, Putin, and Tweets

Heather Hastie — Sun, 22 Jul 2018 06:09:28 +0000

Hopefully, this is the last of these just-to-keep-things-ticking-over-with-some-tweets posts. Last week, I had a Needs Assessment by an Occupational Therapist. As a result, I’m expecting a new chair within the next week or so. Otherwise things are pretty much the same on the home front. “My cat” (really the neighbour’s cat who has chosen me […]

Catching Up (plus Tweets)

Heather Hastie — Sat, 30 Jun 2018 06:05:41 +0000

My apologies for another long break between posts. I thought I should explain, and also use the opportunity to post some videos and tweets. I’ve been out of town visiting the doc, which always takes me a while to recover from. In addition, my electric lift armchair is broken. Coping without it is difficult. The […]

Kakapo Lego (plus Tweets)

Heather Hastie — Mon, 18 Jun 2018 03:40:07 +0000

Regular readers will be aware I’m a Lego fan. I didn’t have any when I was a kid, but I’ve bought some as an adult. Nieces and nephews coming along was really cool, because it gave me an excuse to buy a lot more. It’s amazing how much of it stays at my place … […]

Russia, Crimea, Putin, and Trump (plus Tweets)

Heather Hastie — Sun, 10 Jun 2018 03:09:33 +0000

I was about to go back to work on a Proper Post. Then I remembered I wanted to change my Pinned Tweet (see below in Cat Tweets). On opening Twitter I found some pretty cool tweets and decided I’d like to share them with you. We’ve been discussing Trump’s attitude to Russia and Putin a […]

Roseanne Barr is Racist (plus Tweets)

Heather Hastie — Thu, 31 May 2018 05:43:11 +0000

I wasn’t going to write about this. But, there are heaps of cool tweets today and I need a topic. The stuff I’m writing already is too long to head a Tweets Post, so Roseanne Barr it is. I didn’t watch her show way back when. It didn’t appeal. I tried one episode a few […]

Trump Hits 3,000 Lies (plus Tweets)

Heather Hastie — Sat, 05 May 2018 04:10:27 +0000

Apologies to start with. Firstly, some of these tweets are getting a bit dated. I began this post yesterday by finding most of the tweets, then I ran out of time to write the homily. I should always do it the other way around. However, it was a few days since I’d checked my Twitter […]

NZ’s Pregnant Prime Minister (plus Tweets)

Heather Hastie — Mon, 30 Apr 2018 03:27:57 +0000

First off I must apologise. (Yes, that’s how we spell it in New Zealand.) I’ve been neglecting my website for a couple of weeks. There has been writing going on, but none of it made it here. Two posts are progressing slowly, and one may actually see the light of day. (Not every post I […]
