His response shows him up badly. Just “locker room talk” as if that makes it okay. And constantly dragging Bill Clinton in too. He clearly can’t even see that what he’s boasting about is abuse. He tries to say that people who know him know that’s not who he is, but it’s just confirming everything everybody already thinks. And both his statements have been nonapologies.

I’m honestly shocked by just how many people like this there are (and you’re right about both parties having then). We have them in NZ too of course, but I think if they were in big numbers I’d notice. On average, our population is currently better educated than yours, which is something that’s probably happened just in the last 50 years. I think being small helps too because we’re mostly all thrown in together and so we don’t have huge sections of the population who never interact with anyone who’s different from them, or whi have different ideas and opinions. All schools and work places are melting pots and we have to rub along with each other or we’d never get anything done.

It’s pretty obvious from the crowds he draws, though, that this demographic not only exists, it’s extremely large. Nearly every crime story in the local paper involves similar idiots. This is why approximately every thinking American (there are a few of us) eventually realizes that a large segment of the population has absolutely no business ever voting. Sadly there are people of this ilk in both parties, so we can’t win just by requiring some sort of competency test at the polls. (This, btw, is the reason I doubt the atheist movement will ever gain much ground. Rationality is never going to prevail.)

Someone did come back at him with that – he said he would see what plan the generals came up with, and see whether his plan or the generals’ was better, and he’d use which one was best, probably his plan. At the time he seemed to have forgotten he’d told everyone he had a “tremendous” plan already.

I started answering the questionnaire too, but then it wanted a zip code at the end. I assume that’s how they do their checking that they’re only getting support from USians and I didn’t submit my answers. But yes, you’re right, it’s basically all about feeding his ego. “See,” he can say to all those people asking him to do proper debate prep, “my supporters are telling me I’m doing the right thing already.” He hasn’t worked out that that isn’t the idea of debate prep yet.

Seriously, that’s unbelievable. 90% of it is asking whether Trump should bring up one of Hillary’s so-called issues, like that isn’t 90% of what he’s already doing. This has to be The Onion, right?
