Contrary to your claims mercury in the form of amalgam fillings are still used in New Zealand. That's according to Medsafe and the NZ Dental Association websites.

I agree! Mercury is a big deal. But there's no mercury in fillings in NZ, or the flu vaccine, which is what I was getting at.

We shouldn't close ourselves off, like you say, but a homeopath's current methods for diagnosing too much mercury are clearly bullshit. I've got another even more outrageous example of this particular homeopath's practice, but that person reads my posts, so I didn't include it.

Not defending homeopathy and especially not ant-vaxers, but mercury is not a negligible environmental concern. It is spewed out by combustion of fossil fuels world wide and has reached dangerous levels of toxicity in top of the food chain fish such as tuna. Of course it was once widely used as a medicine to treat syphilis. On homeopathy, science has not explained everything and while we should resist subscribing to a remedy with no scientific evidence for its effectiveness, we should not close ourselves off to the likelihood that there are remedies that science has not yet identified.
