Re the Edinburgh photo: The clock in the foreground is just outside Waverley Rail Station, and is permanently set three minutes fast, to encourage travellers to put on a spurt to catch their train. The hotel of which it forms a part was originally the North British Hotel, and was owned by the rail company which owned the station.

That tweet about electric cars gives the (wrong) impression that Edison built the first electric car. Although there is some dispute, it is more or less accepted that the first one was built by Anyos Jedlik in 1828 (!), nearly 2 decades before Edison was even born. There were many other electric vehicles well before Edison.
The fight between Edison and his former employee Tesla was mainly about Edison’s direct current (DC) versus Tesla’s alternating current (AC).
The current (unintentional pun) Tesla’s use AC, based on Tesla’s invention, hence Musk gave the company his name.
