My chair hasn't arrived yet. An OT visited on Tuesday to assess whether I needed it. She decided I did. She had to write a report and recommendation to my case manager. I have no doubt he will have gone with her recommendation as he was prepared to order the chair without it. So now I'm waiting. I expect it will be here next week sometime.

It's too hard to write how things are now, though I am worried about the new chair too. I've no doubt it will be good, but it will still take my body time to adjust. I've rather got out of the habit of writing too, which isn't good.

Yeah. I haven't looked at your links yet, so it may be there, but that organisation of Steve Bannon's that was doing the Facebook stuff appears to have been involved in Brexit too. Deliberately stirring up hate through lies. I'm all for free speech of course, but this is just wrong.

How true your statement. It also runs rampant in areas where people are not as well educated and less “worldly.” These types never change.

Talking about Brexit, I think you meant to say that in areas with many migrants the 'British born' were not for Brexit.
It appears now that the Russian troll-farms were also involved in Brexit. It is not very clear yet, but it fails to surprise me.

Facebook -which is not really an uninterested party, of course- appears to deny substantial Russian meddling though

Another thing I noticed (I'm sure you're already aware of all this stuff) is that in the places where there are lots of immigrants, the Britain-born people were for Brexit. It was only in the areas where there aren't many immigrants that anti-immigrant feeling was making people vote for Brexit. That makes it even clearer that it's about the fear of the unknown that causes hatred and bigotry. It's similar in the states. The greatest anti-immigrant feeling is in places where
there aren't many immigrants. Like Trump's bed.

That was one of the (many) things that annoyed me about the Brexit vote. Hatred towards immigrants was ramped up, saying they were taking all the resources of the NHS. But the truth is they put much more in than they take out, and the NHS relies heavily on immigrants for staffing.

That is just plain awful! To deny you what, no doubt, your taxes have covered: assistive adaptations based on a lack of belief???!??? These people should keep their religions out of their work; it doesn’t belong there! My friend is a Psychiatrist and currently, she is having problems with the GMC and strongly suspects it is because she is half Palestinian. Some prejudices, for some unfathomable reason, appear to be acceptable. I hope a week is the longest you have to wait.

I didn't report her directly to her professional body. Quite honestly, I didn't think of it. I assumed ACC (the part of our healthcare system that looks after accident and medical misadventure/error victims) would take care of that. However, I know at least one doctor I made a pretty serious complaint about still contracts to them, so maybe not.

I'm actually pretty happy with my current case manager. The reason for the initial delay was I was away etc, so it's not his fault. Then he forgot, but I was prepared to forgive him that because he was honest about it and we all cock up sometimes. Then tried to circumvent things to make the chair come more quickly by ordering it without the physio assessment, but he got caught.

I'm not pissed off with him personally though, just generally pissed off at the extended time with this high pain level which is getting slowly worse, and so harder to deal with. But I know from experience things will get better and I'll all but forget about this time once things are back to normal. It makes a huge difference to your life when you have a good case manager, and he's been great overall.
