I believe Mssrs Wright and Goddard have been working on technological alternatives to the dugout and paddle steamer. If commercialised, these could speed up your round-trip.

Our 2 weeks turned into 6. I experienced a torn retina while driving to the airport for departure. Had to stay another 2 weeks. What a bummer. 10 extra days in paradise. 😉

I’m in the same boat (from the UK), visited in 2010, fell in love with the place and desperately want to return. I had 4 glorious weeks, which just wasn’t enough!

The rules change all the time, so if you still want to come, it’s worth checking regularly. I heard on the news last night that since Brexit there’s been a four-fold increase in applications to emigrate to New Zealand.

My late wife and I spent a wonderful month in NZ back in 2000, and I spent the next year trying (and failing) to find a way to emigrate! Like Scotland, only more so, with lovely people and a better climate. Definitely on the bucket list.

When you’re coming from that far you need to make it a longer trip, which makes it difficult.
